Lemon Squeezy was acquired by Stripe in 2024. Stripe also has its own Stripe Checkout. While LS currently operates independently, long-term product lines may merge or pricing may change. OPCs should monitor official announcements when choosing.
LS explicitly supports digital products only (software, ebooks, courses, API credits, etc.). If you sell physical goods or need complex SKU management, use Shopify or direct Stripe Checkout.
Checkout page customization is less flexible than building your own (but saves you PCI compliance headaches). If you want a fully custom checkout flow (multi-step upsell funnel), LS's overlay and API cover 80% but can't reach 100%.
Paddle is also a MoR but supports B2B invoicing, PO processing, and more mature enterprise features. If your OPC product targets enterprise customers (needing PO, NET 30 payments), Paddle may be a better fit than LS.
